Ephesians 4:16 states (NIV), "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."

**UPDATE 7.12.2022**

From 20 May - 11 July SHEPC Refugee outreach Ministry and MOT combined to deliver nearly a dozen truck and trailer loads of needed household items (furniture, linens, blankets, pots and pans, lamps…) to the Village to Village (VTV) refugee outreach ministry in Harrisonburg.  Those donations are helping Ukrainian and Afghan refugee rebuild their lives in the Shenandoah Valley.

In addition to everything SHEPC members have already identified in their homes VTV continues to need kitchen tables with chairs, bedroom dressers, and coffee tables.

Under the direction of SHEPC covenant partner Bill Skelton and his Stone Point construction crew, SHEPC's Doug Riley, Don Loveless, Bill Baylor, Berlin Zirk, and Bill Eadie built a platform for VTV leading to their storage trailer.  This resolved a problem for them to more safely and easily access their permanent storage over four feet above ground.

Please get in touch with Bill Eadie if you have any questions or want to be involved in this important ministry of the church

The two most important actions Spring Hill ECO Presbyterian Church can take to support Ukrainian refugees today is prayer and giving to Christian relief organizations.

Prayer  Our prayers can focus on peace for Ukraine, minimal war casualties, and the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of ALL effected by this war.

Some prayer suggestions:

  • Peace for Ukraine:  Pray to our LORD, Jesus for...

    • The Russian government or people to remove Vladimir Putin from office as the Russian Federation President in order to stop the Ukraine war.

    • All Russian military operations on the ground, in the air, on the sea, and in the cyberspace to result in immediate failure.

    • All Ukrainians /pro-Ukrainians opposing the war to experience "God's peace which passes all understanding" (PHIL 4:6-7) daily in their personal trials, both during this war and afterward.

  • Minimal war casualties:  Pray to our LORD, Jesus for...

    • Russian and Pro-Russian (Chechen, Syrian, etc. foreign fighters) war equipment to be safely destroyed (and with no loss of life to those who do not yet know you LORD).

    • Russian and Pro-Russian artillery, bombs, and all other munitions as well as cyber attacks to fail (munitions to fail to detonate, miss their targets & safely detonate away from people; the weapon dropping, firing, or launching munitions jam or fail to drop).

  • Spiritual, emotional, and physical needs:  Pray to our LORD, Jesus for...

    • The Holy Spirit to bring the love, grace, and knowledge of Your salvation to ALL on both sides of the Ukraine War.

    • The Holy Spirit to bring Your good news to everyone touched by this war.

Give and Pray  Three giving options are below for those donating to relief efforts supporting Ukrainian war refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).  Every dollar adds up, "even the windows mite" (Mark 12:41-44) But if you give, pray for the successful application of your gift to the designated ministry.

CWS was organized as a response to the global humanitarian needs emerging in the aftermath of WW II. Their mission is to "serve as the toolbox that our neighbors near and far use to build healthy, dignified and safe lives."

SEND is an "interdenominational, multinational Christians mission organization" whose mission is to "mobilize God's people and engage the unreached establish reproducing churches."

Samaritan’s Purse is a "nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world...since 1970."  Their Ukraine relief efforts currently support the deployment of an acute-care surgical field-hospital (currently only conducts 10 surgeries/day) to operate inside Ukrainian territory.
